Vietnam and Cambodia

In 2014, my husband and I visited Vietnam and Cambodia to explore the areas around the Mekong River and the people living nearby. While in Hanoi we journeyed to beautiful Ha Long Bay, spending several nights aboard a Vietnamese Junk, floating in the calm water blanketed by fog, watching the fisherman look for squid and exploring their floating fishing villages. Traveling up the Mekong River into Cambodia, we visited the remains of the infamous S-21 Interrogation Center in Phnom Penh as well as the Choeung Ek Killing Fields, the legacy left by Pol Pot’s regime. Ending our visit to Cambodia, we visited the magnificent remains of Angkor Wat and Angkor Thom, the last and most enduring capital city of the Khmer empire. These images were taken with a vintage Hasselblad film camera; silver gelatin prints are available for purchase (see contact page).
