Chile:  The Space Between

China

In 2015 my husband and I traveled to China where we spent time in Beijing as well as the southwestern province of Yunnan. Home of half of the country’s ethnic minorities, Yunnan province is said to contain the highest degree of diversity in China, both in people and landscapes. Here we marveled at the soul-recharging glimpses of the sun rising or setting over the centuries old rice terraces, the kind and gentle people making their homes in the hillside villages, and the beautiful young Miao women dressed to participate in the activities of the local festivals. It was only fitting that our trip to China would end with a visit to the Forbidden City and the Great Wall. These images were taken with a vintage Hasselblad film camera. Silver gelatin prints are available for purchase (see Contact page).
